Invitation 29 April: The EU-Japan Summit: Outcomes and Prospects

17 April 2019

The EU-Japan Summit on 25 April will bring together Japan’s Prime Minister Abe with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and European Council President Donald Tusk for a first review of relations since the ratification in January of the landmark agreements between the two sides covering political, economic and trade affairs. This will be the last bilateral summit under this Commission, although the leaders will meet again at the G20 in Osaka, in June. The agenda for the April summit will include key issues such as climate change, regional security and trade, as well as bilateral relations.

To discuse the outcome of the summit as well as prospects for EU-Japan cooperation, the EU-Asia Centre and the European Policy Centre are cordially inviting you to a briefing from 1100-1200 on Monday 29 April at the Press Club, Rue Froissart 95, 1040 Brussels.
